1976 Soweto Riots
10 – 20.000 students marched in
protest against a law, that would
prohibit schools from having
exams be taken in any other
language than Afrikaans. Police
shot protesters, who were only
armed with stones and baseball
bats and sent dogs into the crowd,
to attack the the students.
